Marie Akers Wade, age 75, died Friday, June 8, 1990, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Colen C. Wade; three sons, Clinton C. Wade, H. Earnest Wade, both of Christiansburg; Jimmie L. Wade, Roanoke; five sisters, Imogene Quesenberry, Willis; Edith Sutphin, Velva Long, Mary Alice Buckner, all of Radford; Reva Martin, Christiansburg; two brothers, James K. Akers and Troy Akers, both of Radford; three granddaughters, Melissa Wade, Jennifer Wade, Amanda Wade; one grandson, Matthew Wade. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd, with the Rev. James Walker and Elder Larry Hollandsworth officiating. Burial will be in Big Sand Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Big Sand Cemetery, c/o Maberry Funeral Home, P.O. Box 133, Floyd, Va., 24091.
