Mrs. Myrtle Surface Price, age 86, died Friday, June 8, 1990, at the home of her daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband Lester A. Price, and also a daughter and son. Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Donald Gerald, Salem; Anza and Joe Fizer, Roanoke; Margaret and Bernard Sullivan, Blacksburg; two sons and three daughters-in-law, Bobby and Betty Price, Ackworth, Ga.; Ray and Myrtle Price, Blacksburg; Ruby Mathena, Blacksburg; two sisters, Aline Smith and Thelma Smith, both of Blacksburg; one brother, Houston Surface, Blacksburg; 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday, June 11, 1990, at 2:00 p.m. at New Mt. Zion Lutheran Church at Sunnyside. The Rev. Robert Hughes and the Rev. Ira Smith, Jr., will officiate. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Hoy-McCoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg.
