Also appearing will be four other groups: Public Enemy, which has been surrounded by controversy over their songs containing allegedly anti-semitic lyrics; Kid 'n' Play, whose members were among the stars of the recent movie "House Party"; Digital Underground, which has had a recent rap and Top 40 hit "the Humpty Dance"; Power Jam, featuring Chill Rob G; and En Vogue.
Digital Underground appeared on the bill for a rap music show at the Roanoke Civic Center in April.
General admission tickets for the show are $17.50 in advance and may be purchased at the civic center box office and all Ticketron locations.
The concert is being promoted by G Street Express, the Washington-based company that promoted the recent New Kids on the Block concert in Roanoke.
