MONTGOMERY GETS NEW COUNTY OFFICIAL

Randall Wertz, personnel manager of Natalie Knitting in Chilhowie, has been named deputy assistant administrator of Montgomery County.

Wertz, a Virginia Tech graduate, earlier was director of human resources at Portsmouth General Hospital. He will work on personnel matters and special projects for the county.

He replaces Pam McCune, who was promoted to assistant county administrator. His salary will be $30,000.
