NO AUTOGRAPH FROM ROBINSON

Two friends and I wanted to go to an Orioles game in Baltimore. I had never been to a professional baseball game.

After arriving at Memorial Stadium early for the game, we got to meet Cal Ripken Sr. and got his autograph. I was happier than a 5-year-old in a candy store.

Later, a brand new Buick drove right up to the front of the stadium. The gentleman got out and was 10 feet from me. It was manager Frank Robinson. I walked up to him in a very cordial manner and asked him, "Sir, may I bother you for an autograph?" Mr. Robinson did not even acknowledge that I was alive. I was crushed.

Mr. Robinson, I hope for your sake that when you are in an old folks' home and nobody cares about you, you remember how you treated your fellow man.
