CANDIDATES' TACTICS TURN VOTERS AWAY

I TOTALLY agree with Edwin Robertson's May 8 letter, "Voters tire of political promises." In last year's gubernatorial campaign, candidates attacked one another in TV commercials, made new and different promises and for the most part, spent the time defending themselves.

This year I turned 18 and will vote in this fall's senatorial election. I know people will see the same old politics along with the dirty tricks. We get bored and tired listening to this. Candidates begin to sound the same and voters cannot detect a difference, so why vote? JENNIFER JONES NEW CASTLE
