PRINCIPAL SUFFERS HEART ATTACK

The principal of Cave Spring High School suffered a heart attack early Monday at his home in Northwest Roanoke.

Robert Lipscomb, 51, was taken to Community Hospital and is listed in stable condition. He will miss the remaining two days of school and graduation, Roanoke County schools spokesman Marty Robison said.

Lipscomb was hired as Cave Spring's principal four years ago, after serving as principal at Salem High School for seven years.

His duties at the school and during graduation will be handled by assistant principals, Robison said.
