BRADS, ALVAH F.

Alvah Franklin (Chuck) Brads, age 65, died Monday, June 11, 1990, in the Shenandoah Valley Health Care Center. Nr, Brads was born July 6, 1924, in Rockbridge County, Va., a son of the late Charles Robert Brads and Ada Wilson Harper Brads. He also served in World War II from 1942 to 1946 on the Destroyer Escort U.S.S. F.C. Davis and received the American Campaign Medal, Asiatic/Pacific Campaign Medal, Europe/Africa Middle East Campaign Medal, Defense Service Medal, and also the Victory Medal. Mr. Brads worked for Lees Carpet for thirty-one years and was also a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church, V.F.W. Post No. 7578 and the American Legion #126. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Annette Cash, Glasgow, Va.; Mrs. Edith B. Blackburn, Natural Bridge Station, Va., one brother, Dr. C. M. Brads, Sr., Germantown, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 14, 1990 at 11:00 a.m. from the Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. William M. Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Harrison Funeral Home Wednesday from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m.
