Walter Samuel Boyd, age 39, died Tuesday, June 12, 1990. He was preceded in death by his mother, Casolene Montgomery Boyd. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John S. Boyd, Sr., Fincastle; two daughters, Stacey Luve Boyd, Misty Nicole Boyd, both of Newport News; two sons, Justin Troy Boyd, Newport News; Joshua Layne, Fincastle; his fiancee, Norma Jean Stull, Buchanan; five sisters, Mrs. David F. (Susan) Miller, Covington; Mrs. Ralph (Linda) Patterson, Clifton Forge; Mrs. Henry (Patricia) Brogan, Jr., Fincastle; Mrs. Jerry (Joyce) Ayers, Fincastle; Ms. Denise Boyd, Springwood; three brothers, John S. Boyd, Jr., Steven R. Boyd, Gilbert R. Boyd, all of Fincastle; two stepsisters, Ms. Virginia Harlow, Mrs. Cathryn Dunbar, both of Clifton Forge; one stepbrother, Ralph L. Hayslett, Roanoke; aunts, Mrs. Bernice Young, Mrs. Carrie Johnson, both of Clifton Forge; numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 15, 1:00 p.m. at the Rader Buchanan Chapel with the Rev. Chester Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Fincastle Fire Department, c/o Junior Wright.
