DOLLS FOR DADS CAN HELP BEAT STRESS

A dad with a sense of humor may appreciate a Tear-Apart Stress Doll this Father's Day.

The little stuffed figures have removable legs, arms and heads that can be reattached and torn again when future stress arises.

You can select the appropriate doll to satisfy your dad's thirst for revenge: boss, baseball umpire, lawyer and golfer.

And if your dad happens to be the family's compulsive remote control abuser, you can get back at him with the tear-apart channel changer. The dolls retail for about $20.

Here are some other new products just in time for Father's Day this Sunday:

Design-A-Tie ($20) allows you to express your creativity and give dad a tie he'll never forget.

The solid tie in red, navy, black or gray comes with three color-coordinated non-toxic water-based paints, a brush and a personalized label to be signed by the designer.

The kit includes a coupon that can be sent to the company, Y-Knot Accessories, for a tie stand in case dad wants to keep the tie on display.

Here's a new twist for dad's tired muscles and tension. The Twist, a wraparound cordless massager, is a flexible two-speed appliance that measures 4 feet in length.

It can be fastened in position with a clip or held against the body with handles. Powered by two "C" batteries, the Twist transmits vibrations along the soft, ribbed covering. It retails for $38.

When 70-year-old Elmer Anderson was a boy he liked to draw fancy cars: Rolls Royces, Packards, Pierce-Arrows. His sketches always included the hand-lettered monograms that fine cars of that day had on their front doors.

Now a retiree in California, Anderson has gone into business selling affordable car door monograms.

The 3-letter strips are made of vinyl and are easily attached to the front door just to the right of the door handle.

Color choices are black, white, silver, blue, red and gold. The monograms are carwash-proof. Cost is $12 for 2 sets of three letters.

For more information or to order, write to: Anderson's, 32700 Coastsite 102, Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., 90274 or call (213) 377-1007.

The Timex Velo-Trak is a cycle computer that attaches to the handlebars of any bike but can be removed from its housing after riding and worn like a wristwatch.

The watch functions include time and calendar, 24-hour chronograph with lap/split, 24-hour countdown timer, alarm, 25-meter water resistance and six-year battery.

The wristwatch converts to a cycle computer within seconds.

Velo-Trak retails for $75 . For dealer information, call 1-800-FOR-TIMEX.
