NOT MISQUOTED, BUT NOT FULLY QUOTED

THE JUNE issue of The Roanoker magazine quotes me as saying I was misquoted in the Roanoke Times & World-News on March 11. That is not exactly correct.

My intentions were to state that anybody who would build speculative office space in the north county quadrant would need to have his head examined unless "the property was 50 to 60 percent pre-leased. There are always niches in the marketplace for certain types of development but, at the current time, Roanoke does not, in my opinion, need any more office space on a speculative basis."

I do not want either The Roanoker or you to be accused of making up what I said. My concern was that only a portion of what I said was printed, which in effect took my statement out of context.
