THE REV. RICHARD GOTTSHALL, who retired last year to the Roanoke Valley, has become interim pastor of Blue Ridge Church of the Brethren. Gottshall served a Roanoke County church more than 20 years ago.

\ TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH has approved the purchase of a $20,000 electronic organ.

\ MARANATHA FELLOWSHIP CHURCH, 4011 Melrose Ave. N.W., has scheduled a Kids Krusade evening program for children, ages 4 through 12. The program will be Friday and Saturday at 7:30 and on Sunday at 6. Call 563-5332 or 362-8696 to register.

\ THE REV. PAUL "CHIP" GUNSTEN will be installed as pastor of St. Philip Lutheran Church in the Hollins area Sunday at 4 p.m. Participants will include the Rev. Robert Maier, dean of Lutheran congregations in the Roanoke area, and the Rev. Jean Bozeman, Virginia Synod educator and service worker. Gunsten was formerly associate pastor at Grace Lutheran Church of Winchester.

\ DEACONS AND DEACONESSES of Macedonia Baptist Church, 2910 Cove Road N.W., will observe their ninth anniversary on June 24 at 3:30 p.m. Worship leaders will be the Rev. J.R. Hughes and the choir of Bent Mountain Baptist Church.

\ FIRST CHURCH OF GOD of Roanoke is among congregations where a drive is in progress to raise $150,000 to install a sprinkler system at Shenandoah Homes. The high-rise apartment house for the elderly has been the site of several deaths from fires. The home is affiliated with the denomination, which is based in Anderson, Ind.

\ A BALTIMORE MINISTER, the Rev. Dr. Harold A. Carter of New Shiloh Baptist Church, is preaching for revival services through Friday at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 1238 Rugby Blvd. N.W. Worship is nightly at 7:30. For transportation, call 342-5058 or 342-8878.
