STOP HAZING FOR ALL, MALE AND FEMALE

I THOUGHT Paxton Davis' article June 1 was well-thought-out and prepared. It is rare to find a male willing to admit he doesn't like pain.

While I feel VMI should be allowed to maintain an all-male status, I think hazing should be stopped for everybody, male and female. If the same kind of physical cruelty arose elsewhere in the world, those persons responsible would be arrested and jailed, and the public outcry would be horrendous.

The fact that it is part of college "tradition" doesn't make it right. I salute Davis and hope his words didn't fall on deaf ears.
