STARKEY ANNIVERSARY

William H. and Wanetta D. Starkey of Catawba have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married June 17, 1940, in Bristol, Tenn.

Mr. Starkey, a Catawba native, is a retired farmer. He served on the Roanoke County School Board for 12 years and is a member of Catawba Valley Ruritan Club.

Mrs. Starkey, the former Wanetta M. Deeds, is a homemaker and a member of United Methodist Women and the Roanoke Valley Extension Homemakers Club.

The couple attend Catawba United Methodist Church. They have three children and four grandchildren.
