VIRGINIA MAN KILLED IN W.VA. CHASE

A pickup truck passing a state police cruiser on U.S. 33 lost control and hit a tree, killing a Virginia man, officials said.

Charles Vandevander, 39, of Harrisonburg, was killed Sunday about 1 a.m. near Franklin as state troopers were trying to stop his truck, said Trooper Ric Robinson.

Virginia state troopers had been chasing the truck and asked West Virginia troopers to help in the pursuit, Robinson said.
