GOLDMAN URGES SUPPORT FOR WILDER S&L STANCE

Paul Goldman, chairman of the Virginia Democratic Party, has written a letter to other state party chairmen and vice chairman urging them to support Gov. Douglas Wilder's call for an independent commission to study the nation's savings and loan crisis.

"It is a winning case," Goldman said in a letter written in advance of a June 29-30 meeting of the Association of Democratic Chairs in Portland, Ore.
