RELIGION BRIEFS

TWO GOSPEL CHOIRS, God's New Generation and Buds of Promise, will perform Sunday at First Baptist Church, 226 S. Broad St. in Salem. Under the direction of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy London, they will sing traditional and contemporary numbers.

\ JOINT JEWISH SERVICES are planned in July and August at Beth Israel and Temple Emanuel congregations. Starting July 6 at 8:15 p.m. Rabbis Jerome Fox and Frank Muller will speak on aspects of Eastern Religions, Christianity and Islam. The August series will cover Jewish Science, New Age Judaism and Humanistic Judaism. The services will alternate between the houses of worship on Franklin Road and Brambleton Avenue Southwest. FLAME IN THE WIND, a film about a young man's spiritual conflicts in the time of the Spanish inquisition, will be shown Sunday at 6 p.m. at Brambleton Baptist Church, 3634 Brambleton Ave. S.W. It is free.
