FARM FESTIVAL DAY SET

Booker T. Washington National Monument will be sponsoring a Farm Festival Day Saturday. There will be no charge for admission to the park, and the festival will be held rain or shine.

Costumed volunteers will be demonstrating a variety of plantation activities, including basket-making, blacksmithing, candle-dipping and spinning. A 15-minute puppet show will be held at the horse barn in the historic area of the park featuring "Booker and Ranger Rick."

Local groups, including the Mount Calvary Choir, Disciples in Song, and the No Grass String Band, will be performing traditional Southern music.

The park is 16 miles northeast of Rocky Mount on Virginia 122, 20 miles southeast of Roanoke by Virginia 116 and Virginia 122, and 25 miles south of Bedford on Virginia 122.
