JUSTICES COULD LEARN FROM `BEETLE BAILEY'

HOW IRONIC that the most eloquent affirmation of the flag of the United States is in a comic strip ("Beetle Bailey" June 14). Compare its moving message to the inspired mewlings of those five senile old fools on the Supreme Court.

Any chance The Washington Post carries "Beetle Bailey," where by chance these so-called learned men might read and be educated? Futile hope, I expect. It would make too much sense for them to grasp.

I subscribe to and read the Roanoke Times & World-News because you're better than "nuthin." But not by much. DONALD HUNT DALEVILLE
