MAXEY, NANNIE H.

\ Mrs. Nannie H. (Slim) Maxey, age 75, of Route 4, Vinton, died Saturday, June 23, 1990. She was retired from the Bedford County school system in 1980 and was a volunteer in numerous community activities. She was also an active member of Parrish Chapel United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Maxey was also a member of the Virginia Congress of Parents and Teachers where she was awarded an honorary life membership. Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Tim Allen Maxey; three daughters, Martha Moles, Vinton; Nancy Reneau, Blacksburg; Patricia Bartlett, Frederick, Md.; two grandsons, Allen Reneau, Blacksburg; Robbie Bartlett, Frederick, Md.; one sister, Ethel Herndon, Honaker. Funeral services will be at the Parrish Chapel United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Lee Chattin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the Chamblissburg or Stewartsville Rescue Squads. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
