TWO BOYS MOLESTED IN FAIRYSTONE PARK; N.C. MAN CHARGED

A 29-year-old North Carolina man was arrested Sunday at Fairystone State Park in Patrick County and charged with two sexual offenses involving young boys.

Patrick County Sheriff Jay Gregory said Robert Deerwood Reagan of Roxboro, N.C., was charged with one count of aggravated sexual battery and one count of attempted aggravated sexual battery.

The sheriff gave this account:

Reagan approached two 6-year-old boys in the park's bath house Saturday, made lewd comments, touched one of the boys and attempted to touch another.

The boys didn't tell their parents about the incident until Sunday morning. When they did, one of the boy's fathers went looking for the man and found him sleeping in a van. An altercation ensued, and Reagan suffered several cuts and bruises about his face.

No charges have been filed against the father, the sheriff said. Reagan is being held in the Patrick County jail in lieu of bond.
