2 WOUNDED, CARS HIT BY GUNFIRE AT ROANOKE CLUB

A 46-year-old Roanoke man was in critical condition after being shot four times early today at a club in the 1200 block of Loudon Avenue Northwest, authorities said.

William Bernard Woody of the 700 block of Hunt Avenue Northwest was shot in the stomach, buttocks and in both arms during an argument around 3 a.m. at the club, authorities said.

A woman who had stopped at the club with two male companions as the argument was taking place also was shot once in the upper arm, police said.

Patricia Ann Hardy, 36, of Westwood Boulevard, told police she had stopped at the club and heard the argument taking place. She and her friends decided to leave the area. As she heard the gunfire, Hardy began to run and was struck in the arm, police said.

Hardy's vehicle, which was parked nearby, was struck four times in the front end by bullets.

Joseph Lewis Raker of Staunton Avenue Northwest, whose car also was parked in the area, reported to police that his vehicle was struck six times by gunfire.

No arrests have been made.
