TENNIS PLAYER WINS IN NEW YORK

Dan Beckner of Christiansburg finished first in the New York State Senior Olympics Tennis Tournament in the 70-and-over singles division.

As the gold medalist in the tournament, Beckner will represent New York in the National Senior Olympics to be held at Syracuse University in 1991.

Beckner and Sam Tollison, also of Christiansburg, were the bronze medalists in doubles in the Virginia Olympics, held at Averett College in Danville.
