Susan Slaughter, the NCAA women's golf champion from Floyd by way of the University of Arizona, will defend her championship starting today in the VirginiasWomen's Stroke-Play championship at Winton Country Club.

Other former champions in the field of 70 include two-time winners Liz Rogers of Virginia Beach and Kay Schiefelbein of Alexandria, as well as Jane Mack from Richmond. - Staff report
