Mrs. Elsie May Jane Stafford, age 70, of Roanoke, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 26, 1990, at a local hospital. She was a member of the East Gate Church of the Nazarene. Surviving are her husband, Robert L. (Bob) Stafford; two daughters and a son-in-law, Pat and Hubert Burnett, Vinton; Sharon S. Kline, Roanoke; special son and daughter-in-law, David and Nancy Martin, Hardy; four grandchildren, Lorri M. and Allen Quesenberry, Robert David Martin, James Laymon Stafford; two brothers, William Simmons and Harry Simmons; one sister, Evelyn Young, all of Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted at the East Gate Church of the Nazarene at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 29, with the Rev. John F. Perkins, the Rev. Paul E. Lockhart and the Rev. Jack F. Swartz officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
