\ RALEIGH, N.C. - Michael S. Lax, age 34, of Raleigh, N.C., died Friday, June 22, 1990, at his home. He was a graduate of Orange County High School Class of 1974, and a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in 1978. He was a pilot in the United States Navy. He received a master's of arts degree in management from Webster College in St. Louis, Mo., and was a salesman for Abbott Laboratories. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar L. (Gladys) Lax, Roanoke; sister and brotherin-law, Susan and James B. O'Brien, III, Roanoke; brother and sister-in-law, Andrew W. and Judith Lax, Charlotte, N.C.; grandmother, Mrs. Rebecca Fowler, High Point, N.C.; two nephews and one niece. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel at 12:00 noon Saturday, with the Rev. James F. Riach officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
