\ FLOYD - Sheldon Ivan (Dickie) Dickerson, age 49, formerly of Floyd, died Tuesday in a Martinsville hospital. Surviving are his mother, Ada Sumpter Dickerson, Christiansburg; two sons, Lawrence S. Dickerson, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; Kelley M. Dickerson, Fort Bliss, Texas; two sisters, Jean Dickerson, Christiansburg; Mrs. Carl (Alice) Davis, Martinsville; three brothers, R.G. Dickerson, Moneta; Lewis Dickerson, Roanoke; Earl Dickerson, Vinton. The funeral will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home with Mr. Ralph Stewart officiating with interment in the Camp Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, 900 W. Adam St., Jacksonville, Fla., 32204.
