CZECHS TESTED MATERIAL LINKED TO FATAL JET BLAST

Czechoslovakia's internal security agency tested Semtex on a passenger aircraft in 1984 and found that just 7 ounces of the explosive could destroy a plane in flight, according to a British television documentary.

Semtex, a pliable, odorless, virtually undetectable material designed for use as an industrial explosive, is suspected in the destruction of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, in December 1988, in which 270 people died.

The hour-long "This Week" documentary, scheduled for broadcast tonight, shows spectacular explosions filmed by the former marketing director at the factory that produced Semtex.
