THOMAS, MAUDIE E.\ Mrs. Maudie Elizabeth Thomas, age 88, and the widow of James Claude Thomas, passed away Thursday morning at Twin County Community Hospital. She was born in Carroll County, a daughter of the late Hardin C. Mabry and Alice Goad Mabry. She is survived by three sons, Mr. Vernon Thomas; Warrington, Va.; Mr. Joe Thomas; and Mr. June Thomas, both of Laurel Fork; twelve grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with burial in the Laurel Fork Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel.
