Kia Price and Donny Blankenship were chosen junior and senior winners, respectively, of the Junior/Senior Pageant, a fund-raising talent show held recently by the Beta Chi Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.
Price, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Price, recently completed the sixth grade at Ruffner Middle School. Blankenship, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donny Blankenship, recently completed his junior year at Patrick Henry High School.
Latoya Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jones, was first runner-up in the junior division and Sheyonn Baker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Baker, was first runner-up in the senior category.
The program was a benefit for the sorority's scholarship fund.
Amvets post, auxiliary elect 1990-91 officers
Amvets John Davis Harvey Memorial Post 40 has elected 1990-91 officers for the post and for the ladies' auxiliary.
Post officers are Michael Webster, commander; Kenneth Peggins, senior vice commander; Ben Shrader, junior vice commander; Wes Shockley, judge advocate; Bob McConaughy, finance officer; John Driscoll, service officer; Vernon Walker, provost marshal; and Judy Webster, adjutant.
Ladies' auxiliary officers are Belva Matherly, president; Sallie Kitts, first vice president; Cricket Keffer, second vice president; Betty Latimer, third vice president; and Julia Stultz, treasurer.
