TOMS, OLIVER A.\ Oliver Toms Arrington, 80, of Route 2, died Wednesday, June 27, 1990 at his residence. He was born in Bedford County on January 17, 1910, a son of the late James Adam Toms and Carrie Belle Arrington Toms. He was a retired employee of Hampton Looms of Virginia and was a member of Suck Spring Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Toms Dubuque. He is survived by his wife, Clara Wood Toms; three sons, Carlton R. Toms, Danny A. Toms, both of Bedford; Bennie R. Toms, Goldsboro, N.C.; two daughters, Barbara T. Foster, Rustburg; Yvonne T. Thomas, Dale City; two brothers, Guy Toms and William Toms, both of Bedford; a sister, Ruth T. Ferguson, Roanoke; thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the graveside in Suck Spring Baptist Church Cemetery on Friday at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Pat B. Tony officiating. Arrangements by Carder-Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.
