\ NEWPORT - Mrs. Virginia Price Givens, age 93, died Thursday morning, June 28, 1990, at the Shawsville Nursing Home. Mrs. Givens was born on December 2, 1896, in Newport, Va., and was a daughter of the late Albert Hammond and Laura Miller Price. Mrs. Givens was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Wallace Givens, and two sons, Daniel Wallace Givens and Joe Hammond Givens. Mrs. Givens was a life-long resident of Newport and a charter member of the First Christian Church in Newport. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mr. Walter Ned Givens and Sarah F. Givens, both of Richmond; another daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mary P. Givens, Newport; one sister, Mrs. Alberta Price Williams, Lynchburg; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 30, at 11:00 a.m. at the Newport Cemetery with the Rev. Anna Jarvis officiating. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg, Va., Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Christian Church Building Fund in Newport.
