FOURTH OF JULY FUN WEDNESDAY: WRAD, WFNR and WRIQ broadcast live from Bisset Park in Radford covering Independence Day festivities.

WVRU plays patriotic music from 4-5:30 p.m. An All-American Classical '90 starts at 5:30.

WVVV salutes Robert Plant, 11 p.m.-1 a.m.

WKEX's "Pop Goes Country" special airs 8 a.m. to noon including Dean Martin, Patty Page and the Lettermen. A patriotic song will be played every hour.

WRIQ airs Billboard Magazine's presentation of the No. 1 country hits over the past 45 years Sunday through Wednesday.

WRAD and WRIQ go live for the grand opening of the New River Camping Center in Radford, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Today, WVVV and WJJJ air a tribute to America, 9-11 a.m., with the Rolling Stones and Duane Allman. WFNR is live at the Shawsville July 4 parade.

\ RACES: WRAD and WRIQ air the Michener 200 from Pulaski County Speedway, 6:45 tonight.

WPSK's "Fast Lane '90" at 5 p.m. precedes the race with interviews plus track and weather conditions.

\ COUNTRY: WKEX salutes Randy Travis, 7-9 p.m. Monday.

WPSK this week: Tonight, 8-11, is "Saturday Night House Party," a nationwide request show with hosts the Gatlin Brothers. "Bob Kingsley's Country Countdown" is at 8-noon today and 4-8 p.m. Sunday with the nation's top 40 hits. "Nashville Live," Sunday at 8:30 p.m., airs "CD Feature of the Week" at 10 p.m. "All Request Friday Night" is 7 to midnight. Call 633-1071 from Montgomery County, 980-1071 from elsewhere.

"Ralph Emery Show," weekdays on WKEX at 2:30 p.m. and on WRAD at 10:30 a.m., features Moe Bandy.

\ NEWS: WFNR needs donations for the family of Brian Wallace, a 1-year-old Christiansburg resident who is terminally ill. Donations also can be made at the Christiansburg Police Department. Call 382-6106 for information.

WKEX's "News from Blacksburg High School" airs at 9:30 a.m. today.

WVRU's "Talk of the Town," Wednesday at 8 p.m. and Friday at 1:30 p.m., offers details of the upcoming Radford Riverfest with Steuart Macler, chairman of the Riverfest Committee, and committee member Georganne Volandbuck.

\ ROCK: WUVT's Sunday slots include: "Hickory Dickory Dock," 9 a.m., with music and stories; "Winds of Change," 11 a.m., folk rock; African, reggae and other world music, 1-7 p.m., followed by "Bug Radio," special World Beat music. At 8 p.m. is "Live From the Knitting Factory," a concert series from the New York club.

On WVRU: Sunday, 3-4:30 p.m., is "Atmospheres" with new age music. "Long Live Rock," Monday at 9 p.m., features a Lynryd Skynryd special. "Blues From the Red Rooster," with new and classic blues, airs Friday, 8 p.m.

On WVVV Sunday: "Reeling in the Years," 9-noon, including artists Jeff Lynne and Peter Wolf; "In the Studio," 9 p.m., with "Breakfast in America" by Supertramp; "Album Feature," 11 p.m., with "Meat is Murder" by The Smiths.
