Ruby O'Briant Youngs, age 82, of Wirtz and formerly of Roanoke, died Friday at her residence. She was a retired telephone switchboard operator for the White House in Washington, D.C. where she worked under seven presidential administrations. Mrs. Youngs was preceded in death by a son, Bert Edwin Hall, and is survived by ten grandchildren, Marjorie S. Hall, Richmond; Patricia H. Moore, Franklin; Jacqueline H. Jordan, Lori H. Stick, Carolyn K. Hall, Thomas E. Hall, Christopher J. Hall, Peter A. Hall, all of Roanoke; Elizabeth O'B. Hall, Patrick M. Hall, both of Salem; six great-grandchildren; and many caring friends, including Fleming and Beth Collins, Wirtz. Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside at Green Hill Cemetery, Danville, at 1:00 p.m. Monday with Father James Carr officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 4504 Starkey Road, Suite 115, Roanoke, Va., 24014.
