COMPTON WINS AT FRANKLIN

Former track champion Gerald Compton of Rocky Mount won his first Late Model Stock Car race of the season Saturday night at Franklin County Speedway, bringing his total of career victories to 156.

Second in the race was John Livingston, followed by Paul Radford, Butch Isom and Ronnie Newman.

Sonny Arrington won the Mini Stock race, followed by Shelby Cundiff and Robert Cox.

The Street Stock win went to Kenny Wagner, with Mike Bowier was second and Jimmy Mullins third.

Tim Hogan won the Six Cylinder class. Chad Smith was second and Brian Spangler third. - Staff report
