NAMES & CHANGES

MICHAEL N. BISCOTTE and ROBERT J. SMITH have been promoted to associates at Hayes, Seay, Mattern & Mattern, Inc., architects, engineers and planners. Biscotte joined the company in 1980 as a structural engineer. He has designed and managed projects for the Greater Roanoke Transit Co., the Army Corps of Engineers and James Madison University. Smith is the senior systems analyst and data processing department head. He has worked as an analyst on the Roanoke County Spring Hollow Reservoir and Dam and on Richmond's Floodwall Interior Drainage System.

\ ANN A. WARD has been promoted to district manager of Manpower Inc., responsible for offices in Roanoke, Lynchburg and Altavista. She handles marketing and administration and oversees recruitment of clerical, industrial, marketing and technical temporary personnel. Ward has been with Manpower since 1987, most recently as a branch manager in Roanoke.

AILYSA H. COCKRAM has been promoted to assistant vice president of Crestar Bank. She will continue to serve as branch manager of the Collinsville office.

\ BECKY WHITAKER has been promoted to manager of Central Fidelty Bank's Crossroads Mall office.

\ AUDREY P. THRASHER has been promoted to branch officer at Signet Bank's Vinton office.

Dominion Bankshares Corp. has announced three promotions: KENNETH B. SWOPE to communications officer, KAREN K. TURNER and HUBERT C. WILLIAMS JR. to systems officer.

LINDA BRYANT, manager of Roanoke Memorial Hospitals' Hospice Program, has been elected president of the Virginia Association of Hospices.

\ JUDITH PERFATER, vice president of Times World Corp., has been elected president of the Advertising Federation of the Roanoke Valley. \ JOHN W. BREWER has been elected president of the Roanoke Chapter of the American Society of Chartered Life Underwriters and Chartered Financial Consultants. Other officers elected were: Daniel W.
