SOMEBODY HELP HODGE FIND A JOB

PLEASE find out if there is anything the citizens of Roanoke County can do to help Mr. Hodge find employment outside the Roanoke Valley. He's been applying for jobs for years and he's still here.

Frankly, if he stays here much longer trying to build a resume, we'll never get out of debt. He's pushed a police department down our throats because of one sheriff we could have voted out. Instead he pushed for the expensive way, a police department that costs taxpayers untold dollars needlessly and provides the same or less service.

He's pushed the Spring Hollow project, which is projected now at $50 million. This is probably one-third of what it will really cost when completed. There is plenty of water underground in natural reservoirs, as the town of Vinton has found. However, on a resume a hole in the ground is not nearly as impressive as a big, new, shiny dam.

We citizens will be glad to send job recommendations to Prince William County for Hodge, and if they're interested we'll throw in a couple county supervisors to sweeten the pot. JACKSON A. WAINWRIGHT ROANOKE COUNTY
