Mrs. Bertha W. Lacy, age 91, of Roanoke, passed away Monday evening in the local hospital after a lengthy illness. She was the widow of Cabler E. Lacy, a lifetime member of Belmont Baptist Church, a former schoolteacher in Bedford County, and a retiree from the S.H. Heironimus Co. Surviving are two daughters, Annette Lumsden, Anna Margaret Price; two sons, Cab Lacy, Jr., Rudy Lacy, all of Roanoke; eight grandchildren, Bonnie Ferguson, Roanoke; Sarah Lacy, Katherine Lacy, both of Richmond; Eddie Lacy, Sam Lacy, Clay Lacy, all of Roanoke; Larry Lumsden, Charlotte, N.C.; Jeff Lumsden, Roanoke; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Nicole Lumsden, both of Roanoke; a sister, Mary Overstreet, Christiansburg. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday from Oakey's Roanoke Chapel with Rev. Thomas S. Cribb officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Burial Park.
