William Adrian Holland, 95, of Route 4, died Tuesday, July 3, 1990 at his residence. He was born in Bedford County October 8, 1894, a son of the late Alonza Thomas Holland and Teressa Emily Howell Holland. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Emma Wells Holland, and a son, Billy Wells Holland. He was a retired Dairy farmer, a member of Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, the Liberty Masonic Lodge #95 AF & AM, and a charter member of the Bedford Ruritan Club. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Carter Holland; two daughters, Janie Holland Overstreet, Louise Holland Walker; two sons-in-law, Jake Overstreet, Robert Walker, all of Bedford; a daughter-in-law, Jean H. Holland, Thaxton; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Darrell T. Campbell and the Rev. Douglas Pillow officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family suggests those wishing to make memorials consider Hickory Grove United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.
