EXXON PLANS LYNCHBURG PLASTICS PLANT

Exxon Chemical Polymers said Tuesday it will construct a plant here to produce its Taffen brand of glass-fiber reinforced polypropylene. The product is used by automakers for load floors, seat components, bumper beams, instrument panel retainers and battery trays.

The new plant would produce 15 million pounds of the product a year, with start-up scheduled for the first quarter of 1991.

Construction of the plant is pending necessary environmental permits, the company said. - Associated Press
