TWOMBLY HEADS LIST FOR W&L HALL OF FAME

Former swimming and golf coach and athletic director E.P. "Cy" Twombly heads this year's list of five inductees announced Tuesday for the Washington and Lee University Athletic Hall of Fame.

Also to be inducted in the third Hall of Fame class will be record-setting basketball All-American John B. "Jay" Handlan, a 1952 graduate; two-time NCAA national champion swimmer John S. Hudson; football star and academic scholar Amos A. Bolen, a 1934 graduate; and four-sport star H. Leigh Williams Jr., a 1932 graduate.

The 1990 Hall of Fame class will be inducted at a banquet the evening of Sept. 7 at Evans Dining Hall on the W&L campus. - Staff report
