Cecil James Christley, age 62, died Tuesday at his residence. Born at Draper,
Va., September 25, 1927, he was the son of the late William Samuel and Ruth
Smith Christley. He was a member of Lexington Baptist Church. For many years
he was the owner and operator of the Lexington Shoe Hospital. Surviving are
his wife, Ruby Wade Christley, Lexington; one stepdaughter, Faye Wade Burks,
Glasgow; one stepson, Boyd W. Wade, Glasgow; four sisters, Betty Carter,
Hardy; Angelene McClain, Blountville, Tenn.; Janice Bowman, Richmond; Judy
Roark, Taylorsville, N.C.; three brothers, Claude Christley and Ben Christley,
both of San Antonio, Texas; Tony Christley, Draper; stepmother, Mary
Christley, Draper; stepsister, Lola Dice, Max Meadows; four stepgrandchildren;
one stepgreat-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 3:00
p.m. from the Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert Leonard
officiating. Burial will follow in the McElwee Chapel Cemetery, Bustleburg.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the
Harrison Funeral Home.
