AID TO IRAN? CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME

THE RECENT earthquake in Iran has caused some concern as to whether we should send assistance. It is understood that Iran has supported terrorist activities and assisted in the capture of Americans to be held as hostages.

Can we forget the mining of the Persian Gulf and the damage to our ships transporting vitally needed oil? In addition, we witnessed thousands of Iranians in the streets denouncing the United States. We watched them burn symbols of our freedom.

Don't fool yourself into believing this was some minority faction protesting against America. There are times when a people can become overwhelmed or subdued by the powerful influence of a leader such as Khomeini. Remember Gadhafy, Jones and Hitler?

In just a short time, the people of the United States have faced natural disasters that still require assistance. Federal aid in many instances isn't even available and must be paid back. Charity begins at home, and many people (with just cause) feel that their situations weren't handled in a very charitable manner.
