RELIGION BRIEFS

THE SAMARITAN INN, a ministry to street people conducted by the Rev. Jerry Clevenger, will benefit from a project in progress at Northview United Methodist Church. Members, who have been supplying the mission with soup for more than six years, are filling a donated 1982 car with cans of soup.

When the vehicle is loaded - mid-August is the expected date - it will be driven to the mission. Clevenger then will receive not only the soup but proceeds from the sale of the car.

Community donations also are being received at the church on Plantation Road at Ridgecrest.

\ A CONCERT by Ross and Kathy-Jo Kimura of Columbia, S.C., is scheduled July 15 at 7 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church in America, 2216 Peters Creek Road N.W. Ross Kimura is professor of music at Columbia Bible College and is a pianist.

\ SOUTHVIEW UNITED METHODIST CHURCH will send nine members of its youth group to Lumberton, N.C., July 11-15. Led by Jeff Wilson, youth director, the teens will conduct Bible schools and lead other activities as part of a community improvement program sponsored by the denomination.

\ RIDGEWOOD BAPTIST CHURCH is sending three home mission teams this summer to lead evangelism projects. Sixteen youth and adults are going to Kill Devil Hills, N.C., nine young adults will work on Hilton Head Island, S.C., and 11 more members will go to Bland County in late August to help at a ministry center there.

\ THE REV. JOHN AUTRY has concluded an interim pastorate at Bethany Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). A permanent pastor to succeed the Rev. Dr. Ronald Smith is being sought.
