BLACK DEDICATED, HONEST SERVANT

IF OUR PRESENT governor has aspirations for higher office as has been reported, he might want to reconsider his recent removal of the director of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Sam Black was a dedicated and honest public servant who had the interest of the commonwealth veterans at heart. He also had the ability to work well with all of the veterans' organizations.

I think our governor would do well to ascertain the opinions of the groups his appointees are to work with. If he is unable to gauge his constituents' opinions and appoint agency heads accordingly, his "new mainstream" may not make it to first base. Veterans are known to have a large representation of voters in their ranks.
