The one-day program will include all aspects of physical assessment as well as drugs used in AIDS treatment and ethical considerations in treating the AIDS patient.
The seminar, set from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on July 20, will be taught by a group of regionally recognized health care professionals with expertise in treating persons infected with the AIDS virus.
The cost of the seminar is $50. The last day to register is July 12. For more information, contact the college's department of continuing education at 985-8512.
The seminar was planned by a committee of the AIDS Council of Western Virginia which is interested in establishing a home visitation for AIDS patients. Volunteer registered nurses trained by the council would make initial assessments. Also involved would be nutritionists, respiratory therapists and other health professionals.
