COLLEGE OFFERS COURSE ON WRITING FOR SENIORS

Emory & Henry College will add a course on personal writing to its annual Elderhostel offerings for senior citizens July 22-28.

It will be taught by Felicia Mitchell, assistant professor of English, with emphasis on writing techniques for diaries, journals and memoirs.

Other courses being repeated this summer are on the natural history of the Appalachian mountain region, taught by Steve Hopp of the psychology department, and "Discovering Appalachia," by Steve Fisher, political science department.

The program is open to people age 60 or older. It is a national program which Emory & Henry joined in 1983. The cost is $245 ($125 for those not needing room and board), covering all three courses and a variety of evening activities including a trip to Barter Theatre.

Those interested can contact Gloria Surber, Elderhostel coordinator, at 944-3121.
