COLLEGE ADMINISTRATOR TO VISIT SOVIET UNION

Neil F. Murphy, an administrator at Virginia Highlands Community College and chairman of the Tennessee Great Smoky Mountains Park Commission, will travel to the Soviet Union this summer to exchange ideas on conservation, global warming, pollution and park management.

Murphy, who lives in Bristol, Tenn., and is a governor's appointee to the commission, has been director of academic and instructional support at the community college for 20 years. He said he hoped the trip would lead to expanded exchanges between students, educators and others concerned about the environment.
