RUSSELL AUTO-DOOR PLANT DEDICATED

ASAA Inc., which makes door panels for General Motors autos, on Friday dedicated a $5 million, 100,000-square-foot plant.

Virginia Secretary of Economic Development Lawrence H. Framme and ASAA President Andrea Savonuzzi cut a ribbon opening the factory in the Cumberland Plateau Regional Industrial Park.

The plant employs about 200 workers and is projected to grow to nearly 500 by mid-1992.

Savonuzzi said the quality of Southwest Virginia's labor force and the transportation capabilities were major factors in ASAA choice of the Russell County site. - Southwest bureau
