\ MRYTLE BEACH, S.C. - Claude W. Taylor, age 74, of 15-C Fairway Ridge, Deerfield Plantation, Mrytle Beach, S.C., died Thursday, July 5, 1990 at his home. He was a retired Division Manager with Lorillard Tobacco Company in Lutherville, Md., a member of the D.A.V. in Roanoke, and a World War II Army veteran. Mr. Taylor was a member of the Surfside United Methodist Church in Surfside Beach, S.C. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Munsey Taylor; two sons, Claude W. (Wes) Taylor, Jr., Charlotte, N.C.; Wiley (Ben) Taylor, Atlanta, Ga.; three brothers, Tab Taylor, Gene Taylor, both of Roanoke; David Taylor, Mouth of Wilson, Va.; two sisters, Thelma Smart, Littleton, N.C.; Mary Creasey, Richmond; three grandchildren. Funeral services will be at the Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 10:30 a.m. Monday with the Rev. J.C. Raper officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Surfside United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 14386, Surfside Beach, S.C. 29587 or the Mercy Hospice of Horry County, P.O. Box 8287, Conway, S.C. 29526. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
